Sub-standard tap water found in five places

Residents of five villages or city neighborhoods whose water quality is below tougher standards set six years ago by the Health Ministry but enforced only now have been told by the ministry not to drink or cook with their tap water until further notice. The places are Beit Ovad, Kfar Yedidya, Bnei Dror, a neighborhood in Even Yehuda that receives its water from the Tel Tsur Association and a neighborhood in Hod Hasharon that gets its supply from the Ramat Hadar Association. Only these places have not met the new standards, the ministry said, adding that the quality of the water is "not immediately threatening" to life. It can be used, however, for washing and bathing. Notices have been sent to residents.
