Technion signs agreement with Shanghai university

Yitzhak Apelwig, president of the Technion, signed an agreement with Shanghai's East China University on Tuesday. East China is a world leader in chemistry, chemical engineering and materials engineering. Shan Wigu, chairman of East China's board, signed the agreement on that university's behalf and is slated to visit the Technion with two of his colleagues. "There is no doubt that our connection with such a driving force as China, which is developing at a phenomenal rate, is an important connection that have will have long-term advantages for the Technion and the State of Israel. Young faculty members and students that study and research at the Technion will go back to fill key positions in their country," said Professor Apelwig.
