Afghanistan: 3 German policemen killed in attack

Three German police officers were killed in an attack in Afghanistan on Wednesday and a fourth was injured, German officials said. Kabul's deputy police chief said the Germans were killed when an explosion hit a two-vehicle convoy on an unpaved road southeast of the Afghan capital. German Interior Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said the three were police officers deployed to Afghanistan to protect the German Embassy. In a statement, he characterized the explosion as an "underhanded attack."
