A powerful explosion at an army depot near Tirana Saturday injured more than 150 people, including many children, and damaged the city's nearby international airport, authorities said.
The blast set off ammunition stored at the army depot, and explosions were continuing for at least two hours. The explosion prompted authorities to suspend flights for at least 30 minutes at Mother Teresa Tirana International Airport.
Police said that the cause of the explosion was not immediately clear, but that it was not believed to have been caused by a bombing.
