American citizens leaving Lebanon

Americans wanting to leave Lebanon assembled near the US Embassy north of the capital Wednesday waiting to be taken by bus to Beirut's port to board a luxury ship out of the war-torn country. The Orient Queen, the luxury ship that is to take passengers to Cyprus, sailed into Beirut Tuesday night. Returnees will enter the United States through Baltimore-Washington International Airport, a spokesman for the governor of Maryland, Robert Ehrlich, said Tuesday. More than 1,000 Americans are expected to depart Lebanon Wednesday, US Ambassador Jeffrey D. Feltman told The Associated Press.
