Masha Gessen will receive Hannah Arendt Prize, following controversy over Gaza essay
Gessen, a Jewish writer for The New Yorker magazine, published an essay last week comparing the Gaza Strip to Nazi-era Jewish ghettos, sparking backlash from Jewish and pro-Israel activists.
