Three people were shot dead and eight were wounded at the Taste of the City Lounge in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, according to social media reports on Sunday. The shooting occurred in an area that was not close to the Jewish community of Crown Heights, a Chabad source said.

New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said a man in his mid-20s, another in his 30s, and a third individual whose age was not given were killed.

The New York Police Department said that the injured ranged in age from 27 to 61; three of them were women.

She added that she believed that there was a shooting at the same location in 2024 and that there was more than one shooter, but none had been initially apprehended. A firearm was found close to the shooting scene, and 36 shell casings were recovered.

Police do not have suspects in custody

Tisch confirmed that there were multiple shooters and reported that the NYPD had collected 36 shell casings at the scene.

Police also recovered a firearm close to the area, and are investigating if it was used in the attack.

The suspects remain at large.

Sources within Chabad said that the shooting occurred in an area that was not close to the Jewish community of Crown Heights.

This comes after three people were wounded during a shooting in Times Square last week.

Two people, including a 19-year-old man and a 65-year-old man, suffered gunshot wounds, and an 18-year-old woman suffered a wound to her neck.
