Two sets of diplomatic negotiations on Ukraine and Iran are scheduled to take place in Geneva on Tuesday, a source briefed on the matter told Reuters on Friday.

A US delegation, including envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, will meet with the Iranians on Tuesday morning, the source said.

Iran's delegation is expected to be led by Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, according to a Sunday Axios report citing a US official and three others with knowledge, while Oman's Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi is expected to mediate.

Axios further explained that Witkoff had passed along several messages to the Iranians through Busaidi last week, who then compiled them into a single document and handed it to Ali Larijani, an adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Larijani reportedly confirmed on Iranian state television that he had received Witkoff's messages.

On Sunday, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi told the BBC that Iran is ready to consider compromising on its nuclear stance if the US will do the same regarding its sanctions.

"We are ready to discuss this and other issues related to our programme if they are ready to talk about sanctions," Takht-Ravanchi told the BBC, pointing to Tehran's willingness to dilute its enriched uranium as evidence.

The ball is "in America's court to prove that they want to do a deal," Takht-Ravanchi said, adding that "If they are sincere, I'm sure we will be on the road to an agreement."

The deputy's comments follow those made by Trump to reporters on Friday, when he explained that Iran would need to "give us the right deal," one that includes nuclear compromise, in order to prevent the United States from attacking.

"For 47 years they've been talking and talking, and in the meantime we've lost a lot of lives," Trump said.

US, Ukraine, Russia representatives to meet later

Witkoff and Kushner will then participate in trilateral talks with representatives from Russia and Ukraine in the afternoon, the source said.

US President Donald Trump is also trying to coax Ukraine and Russia into an agreement to end Moscow's four-year-old invasion of Ukraine.

Earlier this month, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told reporters that the United States wants Russia and Ukraine to find a solution on how to end the war, the largest since World War II, before the summer.
