Air Canada suspended flights to and from Tel Aviv (TLV) and Dubai (DXB) until mid-January 2027, the airline announced on Tuesday.

The airline had previously extended its flight pause on these routes until October 24, 2026, citing instability in the region.

Air Canada originally canceled flights to Israel and the United Arab Emirates on March 2, 2026, shortly after the war with Iran began on February 28.

The airline said that it will continue to assess conditions to determine when service will resume.

The Canadian government's official travel guidelines advise citizens to "avoid non-essential travel" to a variety of Middle Eastern nations due to security concerns arising from the conflict with Iran.

Travel advisories to Israel across many nations

These include travel advisories on the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, and Oman, which are listed under "Orange" or Level 3 advisories that are considered to be "volatile."

Canada also advised its citizens to avoid non-essential travel to Israel, and advises that all travel to Palestinian territories, the border with Lebanon, and the border with Syria be avoided due to "ongoing military operations."

The United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, as well as a number of other countries, also have travel advisories for citizens considering traveling to Israel.
