Bahrain: Group plotting bomb attack arrested

Bahrain's security force says it arrested a group of people planning to use a homemade bomb in a terrorist attack during celebrations to mark the anniversary of the king's coronation. The Persian Gulf country's official news agency quoted an unidentified security official as saying the group arrested Tuesday had planned to use a bomb containing metal shards to inflict more damage. The report did not say how many were arrested. The announcement came as scuffles broke out Wednesday at an annual anti-government protest by the country's Shi'ite community. Police used tear gas to disperse scores of protesters in and around the capital. Majority Shi'ites accuse the country's Sunni rulers of neglecting and marginalizing their community.
