Data shows spike in anti-Semitic incidents during Cast Lead
By ELIE LESHEM
More than 250 anti-Semitic incidents occurred worldwide during Operation Cast Lead, as opposed to some 80 incidents during the corresponding period in 2008, according to data released Sunday by the Jewish Agency ahead of the international Holocaust Memorial Day.
Data showed that 2008 was marked by a 15%-20% decline in anti-Semitic incidents as opposed to 2007, a number that spiked during the three weeks of fighting in Gaza. According to assessments in the Jewish Agency the actual number of incidents actually "considerably exceeded" the figure of 250.
