Ex-German leader Kohl taken to hospital after fall

Former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl has been admitted to a hospital after a fall at his home.
Kohl's office in Berlin confirmed reports Thursday in the online editions of the newspapers Bild and Die Welt that the 77-year-old Kohl was hospitalized after a fall at his house in the southwestern city of Ludwigshafen.
The newspapers reported that Kohl recently underwent a knee operation and is in hospital to prevent any complications arising, but is doing well.
