FM: Bosnia won’t support a Palestinian state at UN
Lieberman thanks Serb member of Bosnian presidency for opposing Palestinian request for UN membership in the Security Council.

Bosnia-Herzegovina won’t support the Palestinian bid for unilateral statehood at the United Nations Security Council, Srpska President Milorad Dodic said on Saturday.He spoke during a press conference with Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, who was visiting Bosnia-Herzegovina. Details of the press conference were released by Lieberman’s office.RELATED:FM heads to Bosnia-Herzegovina to lobby against PA’s UN bid After FM's visit, Bosnia split on Palestinian UN bid Dodic explained that the Republic of Srpska, the Serb part of the federation with Bosnia-Herzegovina, was opposed to the Palestinian request that the Security Council grant it UN membership. All three federation members — Bosnia, Herzegovina and Srprska — must agree to the move for to support it at the UN, Dodic said.
Bosnia is one of 15 Security Council members.Both Israel and the Palestinians have lobbied its leadership in hopes of gaining its vote.Lieberman thanked Dodic for his support.If the Palestinian membership bid gains enough votes to pass in the Security Council, the US has promised to veto the measure, but the hope is that enough countries will oppose the measure to make this unnecessary.
