A man attacked his wife and mother-in-law with a machete during a divorce hearing in Indonesia, a newspaper reported Friday.
The wife was treated in a hospital for head wounds, while the mother-in-law had minor cuts to her upper body as a result of the incident Thursday in a courtroom in Cianjur on the country's main island of Java, the Koran Tempo daily said.
The 31-year-old man said he attacked the two women because his wife had refused to reveal who had ordered her to end their 3 1/2 year marriage, the paper reported.
It said the man hid the machete in a bag he took into the courtroom.
