The US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control sanctioned several individuals who aided the transfer of Iranian funds to Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon throughout 2025, the treasury announced on Thursday.

The individuals funnelled tens of millions of dollars through exchange houses and took advantage of Lebanon's cash-based financial sector, according to the office.

The funds were directed to Hezbollah's paramilitary forces, rebuilding its terrorist infrastructure after months of Israeli strikes, and resisting the Lebanese government’s efforts to assert sovereign control over all Lebanese territory.

“Lebanon has an opportunity to be free, prosperous, and secure - but that can only happen if Hezbollah is fully disarmed and cut off from Iran’s funding and control,” Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence John K. Hurley said.

Hezbollah receives funds from Iran

Since January 2025, the IRGC has transferred over $1 billion to Hezbollah, the treasury published.

Ossama Jaber, the sanctioned Hezbollah operative, reportedly used the money exchanges to personally collect money for the terror group.

Between September 2024 and February 2025, Jaber collected or converted tens of millions of dollars to be used to reinforce Hezbollah and rebuild after months of Israeli strikes on the group's infrastructure.

Ja’far Muhammad Qasir, another sanctioned terrorist, worked alongside US-designated Syrian businessman Yasar Husayn Ibrahim collaborated on the sale of Iranian oil, gas, and other energy products on behalf of Hezbollah.
