Livni urges economic sanctions against Iran

Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni called on Monday for economic sanctions to be imposed on Iran to stop it from acquiring nuclear weapons within a few years, saying Teheran posed a security threat not only to Israel, but to the region. Private NTV television quoted Livni as saying in an interview that Iran could acquire nuclear weapons in a few years, and urging the international community to use economic sanctions as a way of stopping Teheran.
