Milosevic buried after popular farewell ceremony

Slobodan Milosevic was buried at dusk Saturday beneath a favorite tree in the backyard of his family's estate in his hometown in Serbia-Montenegro following farewell ceremonies that drew tens of thousands of nationalist supporters. As a cold drizzle fell, the coffin of the former Serbian leader was lowered into the grave. It was marked with a simple granite slab carved with his name and the dates of his birth and death: 1941-2006. Milosevic died a week ago while on UN trial for presiding over some of Europe's worst atrocities since World War II.
