Myanmar says cyclone death toll has jumped by 3,400 to 31,938

Myanmar's state television says the death toll in this month's cyclone has gone up to 31,938. It said Monday that the number of missing now stands at 29,770. The death toll is 3,480 more than the number reported on Sunday. The United Nations said Monday that the actual death toll could be between 62,000 and 100,000. Foreign aid workers have so far been barred from entering the country, and relief supplies are piling up in Yangon and outside Myanmar.
