Gunshots were heard Friday not far away from a military air base when the aircraft of Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf was in the air, officials said.
But the top army spokesman Maj. Gen. Waheed Arshad denied some local news reports that the president's plane was targeted by a rocket.
A police official and two security officials, all requesting anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the press, said that police found two anti-aircraft guns on a rooftop near Chaklala Air Base in Rawalpindi, a garrison city near the capital, Islamabad.
