Police: Bomb explosion kills 4 in Pakistan's volatile northwest

A suicide bomb attack near an army base killed four people and wounded more than 10 on Sunday in Pakistan's militancy-plagued northwest, police said. The blast occurred outside a bakery near the Punjab Regimental Center in the town of Mardan. There were no immediate claims of responsibility. Mardan police chief Akhtar Ali Shah said the attacker detonated himself right at the gate of the bakery, killing at least four people. At least 12 wounded people were taken to Mardan Hospital, said witness Mussarat Khan.
