Police say two suspected ETA militants arrested in eastern France
By JERUSALEM POST STAFF
French officials say two suspected members of the Basque separatist group ETA have been arrested in eastern France.
The Interior Ministry says one of those arrested, Asiser Eceiza Ayerra, is a leader in ETA's military wing.
A police official says the Spanish couple were detained Friday in Arceau, Burgundy, while apparently fleeing the scene of a car accident.
ETA has waged its armed campaign for an independent Basque state in northern Spain and western France since 1968.
