The Taliban launched a new operation Sunday targeting government and foreign forces in Afghanistan, a spokesman said, as an ambush killed six police officers with roadside bombs and a hail of gunfire.
Purported Taliban spokesman Qari Yousef Ahmadi said the group's leaders announced the beginning of operation "Kamin," or "Ambush."
