Turkish, Kurdish immigrant groups protest peacefully in Germany

Several thousand Turkish and Kurdish immigrants protested peacefully Sunday across Germany, amid government appeals that they show restraint in expressing their outrage over the crisis in Turkey, where attacks by Iraq-based Kurdish rebels have led to increased tensions.
About 7,000 people participated at a pro-Turkey demonstration in the southern city of Nuremberg.
In Cologne, several thousand people demonstrated against Kurdish rebel attacks on Turkish territory, while on Saturday less that 1,000 protesters came together for a pro-Kurdish demonstration.
Other demonstrations Sunday by both Turks and Kurds in Dortmund, Munich, Berlin and other German cities also remained peaceful.
