The UN refugee agency has appealed to the Iraqi government and multinational forces to provide humanitarian protection for the thousands of Palestinians living in Iraq.
The UN High Commissioner for Refugees said in a statement that Palestinian neighborhoods in Baghdad were being attacked by armed Iraqi militias.
Militias shelled the Baghdad neighborhood of al-Baladiyat on Wednesday for three hours, killing nine people, including several children, UNHCR said in the statement dated Thursday.
