The United States expected Russian decisions regarding aid to the Palestinians to be coordinated with other members of the international Quartet, including the United States, the European Union and the United Nations, according to a spokesman for the State Department.
The spokesman was responding to remarks made on Tuesday by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov which warned that stopping all aid due to the election of a Hamas government in the Palestinian Authority was a mistake.
