US weighs sending 12,000 additional troops to Iraq

The US is considering sending an additional 12,000 combat troops to Iraq, NBC reported Thursday.
The proposal is pending approval by Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. If Gates gives his okay, the soldiers will ship out at the beginning of 2008.
