Iran arrested Western s

Iran arrested a Western spy who was operating within its uranium enrichment plant at Qom just before the facility's existence was revealed to the world in late September, according to a Channel 2 report. The spy reportedly operated undercover from within the plant and transferred intelligence about goings on at the facility back to his handler. Citing Western intelligence, the Tuesday report said that Iran had decided to reveal the plant to the International Atomic Energy Agency in order to minimize potential damage from information the spy may have collected. The Channel 2 report did not specify the alleged spy's nationality. Evidence of the clandestine facility was presented by US President Barack Obama and the leaders of Britain and France at the G-20 economic summit in Pittsburgh in late September. They accused the Islamic republic of clandestinely building an underground plant to make nuclear fuel that could be used to build an atomic bomb. AP contributed to this report
