Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Tuesday that his country was prepared to resume diplomatic relations with Egypt immediately, Israel Radio reported.
Speaking at a press conference in Teheran, Ahmadinejad said he was waiting for a signal from Cairo that it was ready to renew the ties.
Iran shut down its embassy in Egypt following the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
