Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said that his country was not opposed to holding talks with the US, but that it would not speak with Israel, since Iran does not recognize it, Israel Radio reported Sunday night.
In an interview with Al-Arabiya, Ahmadinejad said that "the United States must recognize Iran's independence and its elected government."
He added that Iraq's and Iran's neighbors were prepared to offer the two countries aid, and that he had already sent a letter to Saudi Arabia on the subject.
