Iran calls BBC Persian TV a 'security threat'

Iran's Intelligence Minister says a BBC Persian-language television channel that is being launched is a "security threat" to Iran. The official IRNA news agency quotes Gholam Hossein Mohseini Ejehi as saying Iran will take "necessary measures" to deal with the impending television channel. He didn't specify what Iran will do. BBC Persian TV is to start up later Wednesday. BBC has said it will be seen in Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and elsewhere and dismissed Iranian claims that it will be used to recruit spies.
