An Iranian air force F-4 Phantom jet has crashed into the Oman Sea near the Iranian southeastern port city of Konarak, the semi-official Fars news agency reported Monday.
"Around noon, a Phantom jet fighter from the army air force crashed into the waters of the Oman Sea," Fars reported.
The agency said the fate of the pilot and the cause of the crash were still unknown.
