National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir will be part of the next government and will receive a ministerial position, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised during a campaign rally in Lod on Monday.

"Ben-Gvir will be with us," Netanyahu said in a video of the event shared on social media. "Ben-Gvir will be a high-ranking minister with us. Don't buy the spin."

Netanyahu's Likud party had previously used the term 'spin' to dismiss Ben-Gvir's recent claim that the prime minister had promised several European countries that he would not be included in the next government.

“Ben-Gvir continues with his false political spin and shooting from inside the armored personnel carrier,” Likud said on Sunday following Ben-Gvir's claim.

The party said that the opposite was true, saying that “the prime minister has made clear that any government will include the core partners of the current coalition, and that every Zionist party will be invited to join based on our guiding principles and the current coalition’s composition.”

Ben-Gvir hurt after claiming Netanyahu tried to exclude him from government

Ben-Gvir also said that he felt personally hurt by Netanyahu's alleged efforts to exclude him from the next government, during an interview with 103FM on Monday.

"But I was your partner, I am your partner, I love you. Why do you have to go to all kinds of countries and tell them, 'Without Ben-Gvir'? It's personally hurtful; it's unpleasant," Ben-Gvir admitted. "But I came here for the State of Israel. I entered politics to make changes, and you also encounter disappointments."
