Ya'alon: Netanyahu is a threat to Israel's security

"I wish Netanyahu would fight for Israel's security the way he fights for his political survival," Former Defense Minister and member of the Blue and White party Moshe Ya'alon attacked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday."He who abandons the residents of the south to 500 mortar shells and rockets every day, who ignores the daily violations of the sovereignty of Israel at the border fence, and who closes his eyes to a routine of fear, from balloons and burning kites - he is the threat to Israel's security," Ya'alon attacked Netanyahu.Labor party chairman Avi Gabbay called for Leader of the New Right and Education Minister Naftali Bennett to step down from his position on Tuesday for making a comment saying that in the elections, his party "aims to defeat Hamas and the High Court of Justice.""This is one of the most shocking and outrageous statements ever made by an education minister in Israel," Gabbay claimed. "Hamas and the High Court can not be tied together in the same sentence. Bennett should resign, and if not, the prime minister should dismiss him for such a thing."Leader of the New Right and Education Minister Naftali Bennett appealed to Netanyahu on Monday to convene an emergency security cabinet meeting to discuss the security situation in southern Israel.Bennett also demanded that the IDF present an operational plan to restore the peace to the South, to be implemented immediately."Israel lacks a full-time defense minister," Bennett claimed. "The residents of the South deserve peace. If there were kites bearing explosive devices flying over Tel Aviv, or if missile were launched at the city, the IDF would to everything to stop that."Bennett stressed again that "With all due respect to Netanyahu, a country like Israel deserves a full-time defense minister."
