Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is the reason that Israel is becoming increasingly isolated, Zionist Union leaders Isaac Herzog and Tzipi Livni said during a conference at the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya on Sunday.
The party leaders said that if they were in charge of the government, that would not be the case. Livni specified that the Zionist Union will be able to speak to the Arab world more easily than Netanyahu can.
The two also said they believe they will be able to improve Israel's relationship with the US, saying that Herzog can relate to US President Barack Obama because he understands how to build trust in a relationship, unlike Netanyahu.
They added that everyone agrees that a nuclear Iran is an existential threat, but differ on how best to thwart its nuclear program.
Herzog said, "I am not promising you a rose garden, but I promise we will do everything we can by building trust." He stressed that he doesn't lead a left-wing party, rather a centrist party.
