The IDF and Shin Bet announced on Sunday morning that they had recovered the body of Ofra Keidar from Gaza, along with Yonatan Samerano, and St.-Sgt. Shay Levinson.
Ofra, 70 years old at the time of her death, was a mother of three and the wife of Shmuel Keidar, who was also murdered on October 7 by Hamas terrorists in their home in Kibbutz Be'eri.
First victim of Kibbutz Be'eri
Ofra Keidar is believed to be the first member of Kibbutz Be'eri to be murdered and abducted from her kibbutz on October 7.
She was talking to her son, Elad, and her daughter-in-law, Inbar, when she was attacked by terrorists.
Ofra was on her morning walk at the time of the attack and encountered Hamas terrorists on motorcycles who shot her on the way to the kibbutz, her son told Israeli media.
Ofra worked for 30 years at the calf-rearing facility, where she was responsible for suckling the newborn calves.
She worked at the children's farm in the local animal corner for 15 years, even after her retirement.
