The Knesset building was illuminated in the red, white, and blue colors on Sunday night, symbolizing the American flag in honor of President Donald Trump's orders to strike nuclear targets in Iran.

The decision to illuminate the building in the three colors was made by Speaker Amir Ohana, with the ceremonial square in front to be filled with Israeli and American flags.

"On behalf of the Knesset, which represents all citizens of Israel, I would like to thank President Trump for a historic, courageous and unparalleled moral move, which will be remembered as the day the US saved the world from the enormous danger of weapons of mass destruction in the hands of the ayatollah regime," Ohana said.

Giving Trump high praise

"President Trump proved today that he is not only the leader of the free world, but also the most important president the United States has had in modern history, the best friend the Jewish people have ever had in the White House, and the closest partner Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has had, without whom this day would not have happened," he continued.

Netanyahu earlier praised Trump and the US for their strikes against Iran, stating that the US has done "what no other country can do."

Trump's "bold decision to target Iran's nuclear facilities with the awesome and righteous might of the United States will change history," Netanyahu said.
