An Israeli official told the Jerusalem Post on Tuesday, "The Americans are with us—they know Iran has violated the ceasefire," regarding the expected Israeli response to Iran.
These statements come just hours after a deadly Iranian missile barrage killed five people in Beersheba.
They were killed in their safe room as the missile struck their home directly, becoming the second group of people to die from missile fire despite being in the safe room.
Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered the IDF to strike in Tehran following the attack.
"I have instructed the IDF to respond forcefully to Iran's violation of the ceasefire with intense strikes against regime targets in the heart of Tehran," Katz said in a statement.
Despite an earlier statement from Netanyahu's office that he had agreed to the ceasefire because Israel had achieved all of its war goals, he reiterated that Israel would "respond forcefully" to any potential violation of the ceasefire.
