Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Mossad headquarters and met with Mossad Director David Barnea on Thursday afternoon, where they discussed the the Mossad's success in Operation Rising Lion.
During the meeting, Netanyahu expressed his appreciation to the Mossad for its contribution during Israel's twelve-day war with Iran.
During the meeting with Barnea, Netanyahu also expressed his belief that Israel stands currently "at a strong and strategic point, thanks to the extraordinary cooperation between the army, which demonstrated amazing capabilities, and the Mossad, which operated for years preparing special operations and intelligence against the Iranian threat."
Netanyahu is also expected to hold a small cabinet meeting later on Thursday evening to discuss Gaza, KAN News reported.
Mossad's contribution to Iran war 'immense,' Netanyahu says
Netanyahu told Barnea that the Mossad's work laid the foundation for the assassination of Hezbollah's former secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah last year, and the collapse of the Bashar al-Assad's Syrian regime in December.
Regarding the Mossad's role against Iran, Netanyahu said, "Your contribution was immense."
"The organization demonstrated deep commitment to eliminating the leaders of knowledge and targeting the Iranian nuclear program," he added.
"Your phenomenal achievements combined excellently with the great accomplishments of the IDF, creating a powerful synergy," Netanyahu said.
"I congratulate you on your tremendous and ongoing contribution to the security of Israel," he added.
