A man was hit by a train at Tel Aviv Savidor Central Station on Tuesday evening, Magen David Adom confirmed.
MDA paramedics provided medical treatment at the scene to the approximately 35-year-old before transferring him to Sourasky Medical Center's Ichilov Hospital.
The man is in serious and unstable condition, MDA added, noting that he is unconscious and on a ventilator.
Unclear whether event was accidental or suicide attempt
Officials have not commented on whether the incident was accidental in nature or an attempted suicide.
Similar events have occurred at Israeli train stations in the past.
In September, a man around 50 years old was confirmed dead after being trapped under a train car at Wolfson Station in Holon.
MDA stated that he was hit by a train near the station. When MDA paramedics arrived, the man exhibited no signs of life, and paramedics were forced to declare him dead at the scene.
A soldier was killed by a passing train after losing consciousness on the platform in Netanya in 2023.
A freight train damaged electrical infrastructure at two locations in August, halting train service between Binyamina and Netanya and between Tel Aviv HaHagana and Lod–Ben-Gurion Airport.
This is a developing story.
