Israel appealed to the International Criminal Court (ICC) Appeals Chamber on Monday to have the arrest warrants against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant annulled, the Foreign Ministry confirmed.

Furthermore, Israel has filed a request with the ICC Appeals Chamber to disqualify ICC prosecutor Karim Khan from involvement in any cases against Israel.

The state of Israel views Khan’s actions as having done irreparable damage.

The request comes amid information suggesting Khan used false claims to target Israel in an attempt to deflect attention from allegations of sexual harassment against him by a female employee whom he had managed.

The alleged sexual abuse misconduct, including abuse of authority and coercive sexual behavior, is said to have taken place during work trips, in Khan’s office at the ICC, and at his home.

Khan denies the allegations against him

Khan has repeatedly denied all mistreatment, his lawyers claiming that Khan “has been the subject of an orchestrated campaign” to discredit him.

The woman who accused Khan has been waiting for almost a year for the United Nations to complete its investigation.

“Where does this end, and how much will be allowed?” she asked.
