Nursing homes have fallen victim to a series of cyber attacks, the National Cyber Directorate announced on Thursday.

Computer services that nursing homes utilize, as well as several other private companies, were targeted in an ongoing attack, prompting a response from the National Cyber Directorate, the Health Ministry, and the Social Affairs Ministry.

The attack is under investigation, the directorate said.

In October, a cyberattack targeting Shamir Medical Center leaked emails containing sensitive patient information and was deemed by the directorate to be an Iranian attempt to disrupt the hospital's functions.

The ministries are in communication with the nursing homes to avoid further disruption.
