The US State Department has partnered with Israel's El Al Airlines in order to return American citizens in Israel back to the United States, the department announced on Thursday.
According to the State Department, El Al has returned over 2,000 Americans to the United States since the beginning of Operation Epic Fury, in flights exclusively designated for US citizens.
The State Department also said that it had reached out to all US citizens who expressed interest in leaving Israel, and was providing them with "personalized assistance."

The department said that El Al was offering discounted fares to US citizens attempting to leave Israel, and that a percentage of seats on all US-bound flights would be reserved for them.
Americans were also advised to consider taking an overland route to Taba, Egypt, where commercial flights are currently operating.
Over 70,000 Americans in total have left the Middle East and returned to the US since February 28, with more than 41,000 US citizens receiving security guidance and travel assistance from the State Department.
