The IDF Home Front Command has tightened its defense guidelines for southern Israel following a stituational assessment and the Iranian missile strikes in Arad and Dimona on Saturday.

Restrictions will be tightened in the areas of Lachish, Western Lachish, Western Negev, Central Negev, Southern Negev, and the Dead Sea.

Gatherings up to 50 people are permitted, provided there is a shelter nearby that can be reached should a siren sound. Workplaces are also allowed to remain open under the same conditions.

Schools will remain closed, in line with Education Minister Yoav Kisch's emergency Saturday ruling to cancel the return to in person learning on Sunday. 

The updated restrictions will go into effect on Sunday at 6:00 a.m. until Tuesday at 8:00 p.m.

Over 100 wounded in Arad, Dimona

At least 88 were wounded after an Iranian ballistic missile struck a neighborhood in Arad, and another 78 wounded across several impact sites in Dimona on Saturday. 

Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba declared a mass casualty event after wounded from both events were rushed through its doors to recieve medical treatement.

Later in the evening, the Health Ministry announced it would facilitate the transfer of some of those wounded to other hospitals in order to ease the strain put on Soroka and ensure that the wounded are provided with proper care.
