Flights will start departing from Ben-Gurion Airport with up to 100 passengers, with tickets available from Sunday midnight, the Transportation Ministry approved on Sunday, according to Hebrew media.

This represents an increase in the 80-passenger limit per flight, established due to the current war with Iran and the potential security risks of operating full flights.

Along with this, the ministry will allow for two flights to depart per hour instead of one, according to the reports.

The ministry had already lifted restrictions imposed during the holiday season, which lowered the number of passengers to 50, with the new policy expected to become a trend towards more relaxed flight restrictions.

Third of tickets reserved for humanitarian flights

The reports also mentioned that 30% of the flight's passengers will be reserved for emergency or humanitarian cases.

To apply for these options, passengers will have to contact the Transportation Ministry and be subject to the designated committee's decision.

The total passenger quota doesn't include the crew, the ministry clarified.
