Mali and Liel Yahalomi, who were previously announced as missing abroad before being located in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in August, landed at Ben-Gurion Airport on Wednesday afternoon.
The Yahalomis were on board a flight that departed from Athens, Greece, Maariv learned.
The mother and daughter exited the terminal, wearing matching outfits, on Wednesday. Authorities did not appear to attempt to detain the pair, who did not interact with the Israeli media waiting for them at the terminal exit.
Mali, 50, and her daughter Liel, 23, were found in Argentina on August 14, Israel Police confirmed at the time, after going missing one week earlier in Vienna, Austria.
The two did not arrive for their return flight, which was scheduled to depart Prague at 9:45 p.m. They were found on an intercity bus in the Argentine capital.
They left Israel for Prague, continued to Vienna, apparently traveled through Frankfurt, and eventually reached Buenos Aires.
Two Iranians arrested in Namibia claimed to be Israeli, initially misidentified as Yahalomis
Meanwhile, two Iranian women arrested in Namibia after claiming to be Israeli were initially misidentified in Wednesday media reports as the Yahalomis.
The two women were arrested after being found with fake Hungarian passports and claiming to be Israeli. After the passports were determined to be fraudulent, Namibian authorities contacted Israel’s Consulate in South Africa to verify the women’s identities.
Rabbi Yosef Rahimi, the Chabad Lubavitch emissary in Namibia, told Walla that he immediately realized the two women were Iranian when he met them at the police station.
