A car ramming was reported near the West Bank area of Ateret, lightly injuring a civilian who was evacuated to receive medical attention, the IDF confirmed on Thursday night.
The IDF later confirmed that the incident was not terror-related and that the driver was transferred to the security forces.
Israel Police officers from the Judea and Samaria District opened an investigation into the incident.
KAN News reported that the incident had occurred after a group of extremist settlers from the "Hilltop Youth" had established a barricade across the road and stopped Palestinian cars.
According to KAN, the Hilltop Youth had thrown rocks at the cars. After one of the drivers was almost hit, he attempted to escape the area with his vehicle, hitting one of the Hilltop Youth.
Palestinian driver runs over Jewish rioter
A similar incident occurred in June, at the Efrat Junction in the West Bank.
At the time, the IDF stated that, prior to the event, dozens of Israeli Jewish rioters had blocked roads in the area, forcing Palestinian cars to turn around and throwing rocks at their vehicles.
According to the IDF, as the Palestinian drivers fled, one of the rioters had been run over, leading to them being lightly wounded and taken to the hospital for treatment.
Army Radio also reported that some security forces who had been in the vicinity of the event at the time made no effort to stop the rioters' actions, and, according to witnesses, were seen speaking to them without arresting them.
