Police forces arrested two suspects, aged 27 and 24, in the Shuafat area of Jerusalem on charges of stealing beehives from Tel Hadid near Modi'in.
Police reported the alleged theft of the hives after the suspects caught themselves in a sticky situation after attempting to make a beeline through the western entrance of Modi'in until the "suspicious" truck was stopped for inspection by officers on location.
The officers found multiple beehives stored in the back of the two suspects' truck.
The two suspects appeared in court early yesterday morning and have been put on a six-day house arrest.
According to police, Israel considers it a grave crime to harm local wildlife, nature and to cause property damage to these agricultural settings, and as a result police, have been creating a huge buzz around conducting sting operations to curb such acts.
