Five suspects were arrested on suspicion of involvement in a vehicle break-in and theft of about NIS 500,000 in cash after an incident in Or Yehuda, near Tel Aviv, Israeli Police announced on Sunday.

Investigators from the Mesubim police station received a complaint regarding a break-in at a parked vehicle, during which approximately $100,000 and about NIS 180,000 in cash were allegedly stolen. After analyzing the scene, the police opened an investigation.

According to the Israeli Police, while investigating, the police officers succeeded in tracing the identities of the suspects, who, allegedly, closely followed the victim until he parked the vehicle.

After waiting for a less risky moment, the suspects broke into the car and stole about half a million shekels.

Suspects arrested for investigation

Some time afterwards, during an operational activity, police detectives located three of the five suspects, aged 24, 25, and 28. The criminals were staying at a hotel in Tel Aviv and were arrested and brought in for questioning, the Israeli Police noted.

In sequence, the other two suspects of involvement in the case were arrested, a 53-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, and brought to the police for questioning.

As a conclusion of the investigation, the two last arrested suspects were released under “restrictive conditions,” Israeli Police said.
