A man in his 50s was murdered on Jaffa’s Yefet Street on Saturday in a violent incident that also injured the victim’s underage son, according to Israel Police.
According to the police, the victims were at a local street kiosk when the unknown assailant opened fire, critically wounding the man and moderately injuring his son.
The victim died at the hospital from gunshot wounds. His son was taken for medical treatment due to leg wounds.
Police have opened an investigation into the incident, noting that it is likely criminal in nature. Evidence has been collected from the scene, and police are actively searching for the shooter.

The Abraham Initiatives, an organization that works toward a “shared society” for Israel’s Jewish and Arab citizens, commented on the incident.
“A father and son go outside, the father was murdered, and the son was injured – another family broken,” the organization stated. “Security is not only necessary against Iran, but also within Israel. The government must immediately solve the crime crisis.”
