Don’t start the New Year without at least one glass of champagne, and it doesn’t have to be expensive.

The winery is relatively small and produces the wines according to the traditional Champagne method from grapes they grow in nine vineyards.Carte Blanche Brut Described by the winery as the perfect wine for any family gettogether, this cuvee is a classic blend of 50% Pinot Meunier, 40% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir, and 50% reserve wines from three different harvests. The wine has typical fruity aromas of peach and apricot with floral hints, very well balanced and fresh. Kosher. NIS 229.Bianchi Brut (Argentina) The Bianchi family were pioneers of the Argentinean wine industry. The founder of the winery, Don Valentio Bianchi, was born in Italy and immigrated to Argentina in 1928, where he discovered his passion for winemaking in the DOC San Rafael area.Bianchi Brut, made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, is produced according to the Champagne method. It is a lovely French-style wine with a yellowgreen color, a wonderful aroma of yeast and fruit, smooth, balanced and refreshing. NIS 69.Tommasi Established in 1902 in the heart of the historic Valpolicella Classico region in the northwest part of Verona, Italy, the winery grew over the years and now extends over 195 hectares of hillside vineyards. Tommasi Prosecco Filodora, grown in the Veneto, is made in the Charmat method. It is a very festive wine that presents excellent value. NIS 65.Gancia Carlo Gancia, who invented the first bubbly Moscato, was born in 1859. The Italian bubbly evolved from that first drink to the Asti Spumante. Gancia was the first to export Italian sparkling wine abroad. Today, the winery produces a large number of sparkling wines from northern Italy, including Prosecco, Moscato D’asti, Asti and the Moscato Rose.Gancia Asti, the original sparkling wine from Gancia, offers sweet raisin flavors balanced with fruity acidity and a sharp finish. This is a great wine for parties and with desserts. Kosher NIS 49.90.Gancia Moscato Rosé is a blend of red-wine grapes grown in northern Italy and picked by hand. It is a sparkling rosé with a lovely pink color, gentle bubbling and smooth and layered flavors, as well as aromas of roses, peaches and raspberries. NIS 49.90.Gancia Brut, with its light straw and green color, dry and light floral flavors with mineral hints, is especially fresh. With fruity aromas of white fruit and white flowers, this wine is perfect with food such as fish and salads and as an aperitif. NIS 49.90.Codroniu EcologicaIsraco started importing the new ecological line of cavas from the famous Spanish winery Codroniu. There are three wines in this line:– the rosé, the semi-dry and the brut. The grapes for all the wines are grown in an ecological vineyards and are processed separately from other grapes in the winery and aged for at least 12 months.Codorniu Ecologica Rosado is a dry cava made from Xarel-lo and Parellada grapes. This festive cava has a pretty pink color, offering fruity citrus and strawberry aromas. It will be well received as an aperitif and can accompany food as well. NIS 49.Codorniu Ecoloigica Semseco has fruity aromas of green apples, verbena and almonds. Wonderful as an aperitif for those who prefer not so dry wines, and it is great with Asian food and desserts. NIS 49. This wine also is available in half-size bottles (NIS 75) and personal sized bottles (NIS 19).Undurraga (Chile) The Undurraga winery was established in Chile in 1885. It is considered one of the top wineries of Chile and produces 10 bubblies, two of which are imported to Israel for the New Year’s parties.Undurraga Demi Sec is made from 100% Chardonnay. The color is pale yellow with greenish hints. The cava has lovely bubbles and fruity flavors of ripe apples and pear compote. NIS 49.Undurraga Brut is made from 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir. This lovely wine has a bright yellow color and gentle little bubbles. The wine is very dry with balanced acidity and nice finish, offering aromas of fruit such as apple and quince. NIS 49.Vinichi Not made from grapes, this new bubbly beverage comes in a variety of fruit flavors – peach, berries and pomegranate. Made in Spain, this is a fun drink for parties and light meals. NIS 29. Kosher.Sparkling Buzz As part of the Buzz line of light wines, Carmel launched the sparkling Moscato Buzz in personal 250 ml. cans, favored by many youngsters for parties. As such, says Carmel, this drink is a favorite among women, who prefer it to beer. In the line are white Moscato, Carignano (red) and Sparkling Buzz with berries. Kosher. NIS 9.90. Available at wine stores and convenience stores.
